Fulton's Rock Hike
Fulton's Rock has a bushman painting of an elephant, indicating that at one time elephants may have wandered around this part of the Drakensberg.
Highmoor camp to Fulton's rock is an easy hike to the rock and a bit more dfficult coming back to the camp up the steep hill you walked down earlier. A slow and steady pace on the way back up the hill which is roughly 1.5km and 340m up and you will then have a nice flat last 3km back to the camp.

From the Highmoor Reserve car park head North West towards a gate and turn right at the sign. After 250m going downhill cross the stream over the wooden bridge and after another 250m on after the stream crossing take the path to the left (the right leads to the small Kamloops Dam wall).
In front of you is the Salma Dam, cross the stream and walk past the dam, now to your left. After a slight uphill you head slightly downwars towards the Shasta Dam which you pass on your left. After this dam is a small knoll on your right and the main path turns right, the small path to your left is towards Fulton's Rock.
After 250m along this path the descent begins, quite steeply as you get lower down. Fulton's Rock can be seen about a third of the way down (refer the picture above). At the bottom of the descent you cross a small stream to your right over a small wooden bridge. Continue along the contour and Fultons Rock (the size of a large house) is about 450m along the path. Retun via the same route or continue on to Caracal Cave and return via the direct route to Caracal Cave.
